Music

Imagine a career in music

Whether you study music formally or independently, success starts with the work you put into becoming a strong musician. If you’re willing to put in that work, our faculty will help you build the skills to succeed.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.

Victor Hugo

Did you know?

  • The U.S. music industry contributes $212 billion to GDP and supports 2.5 million jobs—we’ll help prepare you for one of them.
  • There’s a growing national shortage of music teachers, with 24 states and Washington, D.C. already affected. Arts education jobs are projected to grow 11% through 2030. Through our partnership with IU East’s Transition to Teaching program, you can earn your teaching certification.
  • Music therapy is a rapidly expanding field with high demand and limited supply, including at advanced levels. Starting salaries in Indiana average around $54,000. We can help you begin your coursework and prepare to audition for music therapy programs at IU Indianapolis or Purdue Fort Wayne.
