Psychology

Investigate the scientific roots of human behavior

Psychology is both a science and an applied discipline. At IU East, students examine the biological and scientific foundations of behavior while also exploring how psychological principles apply to everyday life, mental health, organizations, and society.

You’ll study topics such as:

  • Behavioral neuroscience and brain–behavior relationships
  • Cognitive processes, including learning, memory, and perception
  • Personality and social behavior
  • Psychological disorders and mental health counseling skills
  • Human development across the lifespan

The B.S. curriculum emphasizes research methods, data analysis, and evidence-based reasoning, making it well-suited for students interested in healthcare, research, mental health services, business, or graduate and professional programs.

We also offer a minor in psychology that complements a wide variety of majors.

See our Academic Catalog about requirements for the B.S. degree and the minor in psychology.
