The writing program

One of the first courses you'll take as a college student might be in English!

All IU East students must complete ENG W131 Reading, Writing, and Inquiry, followed by your choice of ENG W230 Science Writing, ENG W231 Professional Writing Skills, or ENG W270 Argumentative Writing.

Designed to give you foundational knowledge in written communication, these courses prepare you to write longer essays in your major, setting you up for success throughout your academic journey.
