Current Research or Creative Interests
- DNA-Templated Catalytic Cascades: Biochemical synthesis often requires a series of reactions catalyzed by different subunits of an enzyme organized in 3D space by the overall structure of the enzyme. I am interested in using DNA and synthetic catalysts to create similar scaffolded catalytic cascades.
- Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: I am interested in designing "Choose Your Own Adventure" labs that require students to make decisions about how to proceed at key steps of a protocol and see how their decisions affect the outcome of the lab and study how giving students control over the lab in a safe and guided way affects their learning and attitude toward chemistry labs compared to traditional "Cookbook" style labs.
