Hello, I am a nursing student in the Master’s Program at IU East. My concentration is in Nursing Administration. I will be touring in London as part of our experience to learn more about the UK healthcare system. I am very excited about getting this hands on approach and conversing with the Royal College of Nursing students and speaking with hospital administrators. We have so many differences between the two health care systems and it will be interesting to contrast and compare. I am currently in an administrative role at my facility and experience the difficulties that all medical staff endure while trying to care for our patients. A large majority of our patients have difficulty understanding their insurance, facilities have trouble with reimbursement, and the UK does not experience either one of these issues due to having a practically free health care system. I will be very curious to see how the UK makes their system work for all their population.
