Winding Down

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Hatfield and this is my first year in SGA. I am a junior majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I have aspirations to attend dental school after I finish my undergraduate education. I apply in June, so fingers crossed!

In our last SGA meeting, Chancellor Cruz-Uribe sat in and we discussed updates from YOUR recent feedback at our Howl About It tables. We believe that the Wi-Fi issue in Tom Raper has been resolved. We are also looking into putting one of those nice water filling stations in Tom Raper as well! We also want to remind everyone that open gym hours are officially available in the new Student Events and Activities Center. If you haven’t already, stop in and check it out! It makes us so happy to see changes being made based on your feedback. We are really striving to give our students the best possible campus experience.

Last week we also hosted our Tea with the Deans event where we were able to chat with the deans from each of our schools. It was great to be able to reach out to those who have a lot of influence over each of our areas of study.

Presently, as you all know, it is the dreaded finals week. On behalf of everyone in SGA I want to wish everyone the very best of luck! It seems like the semester just flew by. Unfortunately, we have no more SGA meetings for the semester, but if you wish to hear more about Student Government Association here at IU East, you can catch us next semester. Our new meeting times have officially been set along with the dates: our first meeting of the spring semester will be from 11-12:30pm on January 17th.

Good luck to everyone this week and Happy Holidays. Enjoy your Christmas break and we will see you in the New Year!!
