Hi, my name is Sara Wilhoite, and I will be working as an intern this summer at the IU East Campus Library. I will be helping with the First Year Orientation, First Year Seminar, library instruction, as well as other projects. Please stop by the library anytime, if you have any questions or just want to say “hello.” Also, do not hesitate to email me at skwilhoi@iupui.edu. I look forward to meeting many new people!
I grew up in Connersville, Indiana, and then I went to the University of Evansville located in Evansville, Indiana, which is where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature with a minor in political science. I also played tennis while at the University of Evansville. Next, I moved to Indianapolis. I worked at the Greenwood Public Library in the children’s department and completed a Master’s degree in English.
Currently, I am a graduate student in the Library Science department at IU-Indianapolis. I will complete my degree in August, and I can’t wait! I am finishing up a graduate assistant position at the IUPUI University Library where I work at the Reference Desk. This summer I will be living in two places: my hometown of Connersville, Indiana and my new apartment in Bloomington, Indiana.
I have a wide variety of interests, and I am always excited to learn new things. I love the outdoors, and I am a huge sports fan. I also love libraries, obviously! I enjoy the community feeling that libraries create, and I am interested in doing research and working with people.
I am excited to be at IU-East, and I hope to meet all of you soon! Have a wonderful summer!
