Commencement is coming up in a few months, and lots of you will be walking away with a brand new degree, ready to get a good job that your new credentials qualify you for. But why is your degree worth what it is? Why do employers have confidence that a degree means you’ll be a great employee? Recently, we were visited by accreditors examining our upcoming Masters program for Public Administration. These are like ‘quality inspectors’ who make sure we’re doing what we say we’re doing, and that our program measures up to standards acceptable to the U.S. Department of Education. It’s On Us

Sexual assault on campus remains a huge concern for both students and administration alike. To raise awareness of this important issue, and to promote resources to help stop campus sexual assault, IU East is participating in It’s On Us. A nationwide project intended to support victims while providing help and resources, It’s On Us launched in 2014. IU East will be hosting a series of events throughout the week of 11/7-11/11. On Monday, the Red Flag Campaign will launch on the quad. The Red Flag Campaign encourages participants to look for “red flags”, or warning signs that might signal an imminent assault and speak up when they see them. It’s On Us

November 9th through 13th is the “It’s On Us National Week of Action“, a national awareness campaign administered by The White House to end sexual assault on college campuses. All this week IU East will focus on this theme. There will be a T-shirt give-away, a poster of the It’s On Us pledge in Springwood Hall for students to sign, and plenty of sexual assault information, including pamphlets and videos (IU East’s own “It’s On Us” video will debut on campus this Tuesday).
