Indiana University East’s Political Science online program is listed in the top 20 of the 2017 Top Online Colleges for Political Science Degrees list. Top Online Colleges ranked colleges and universities by program based on academic strength and tuition rates.
Assistant Professor of Political Science Chera LaForge said students completing the political science program at IU East can take a variety of courses online, regardless of where their interests lie.
“We offer electives in American politics, comparative politics, international relations, and political theory. Students gain a broad understanding of politics both in the US and abroad. Our classes are taught by full-time faculty or our highly qualified adjunct faculty, including some who are active political practitioners,” LaForge said.
The IU East School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Students who complete the political science program are prepared for careers or graduate study in politics, law, business, non-profit management, and policy-making. The program also serves undergraduates in other majors, including social work, criminal justice, education, and history. The program provides knowledge and skills that are transferable across disciplines and careers that are essential for developing citizens prepared to make a difference.
“We want our online students to feel like they are part of the IU East community. Many travel to campus to meet with faculty and advisors and others have participated in travel to Washington, D.C.,” LaForge said. “Our online program provides the same excellent quality and great value our on-campus students receive, with the added flexibility of completing an education on their schedule.”
