What is the Midwest Student Exchange Program / Indiana Partners?
The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) / Indiana Partners tuition rate is a multi-state tuition reciprocity program. Through the MSEP, participating institutions agree to charge students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs. All enrollment decisions are made at the discretion of the receiving campus and the campus may exercise its right to limit participation or set specific admission requirements for MSEP.
Which majors at IU East participate in MSEP/Indiana Partners?
Undergraduate baccalaureate programs are included. Exceptions include all online degree programs and dual degree programs in which students enroll through a different institution.
Are there eligibility requirements to participate in MSEP/Indiana Partners?
To be eligible for the Indiana Partner tuition rate, you must reside in one of the participating states and be admitted to a participating IU East baccalaureate program as a degree-seeking student. This includes full- and part-time students, transfer students, second degree students, and returning adult students.
You are not eligible for an Indiana Partner tuition rate if:
- You are enrolled in an online degree program
- You are enrolled with a non-degree seeking status
- You are enrolled in a dual degree program and one program does not participate
- You have received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status
- You are a nonresident who is eligible to receive in-state tuition
MSEP/Indiana Partners students pay tuition no more than 150% of our current published tuition rate. Important note: while the MSEP/Indiana Partners tuition rate reduces tuition costs compared to non-resident tuition, student services fees and other program fees are not reduced by the Indiana Partners rate. For more information on these fees, see IU East Fees.
