Appeal for Reinstatement after Academic Dismissal
Students who have been academically dismissed or suspended from any campus of Indiana University are not eligible to enroll in any courses at IU East until they have been reinstated and after one semester has elapsed following dismissal. By completing the Application for Reinstatement and Personal Statement, students are requesting reinstatement to IU East.
How to Appeal
You can appeal by completing the Application for Reinstatement and Personal Statement. Send completed documents as an attachment to the Dean of Students at appeals@iue.edu, or mail them to:

Richmond, IN 47374Reinstatement Committee members will read your appeal documents and consider your unique circumstances. After careful deliberation, the committee will notify you of their decision, either to your IU e-mail address (if active) or to your permanent mailing address on file.
If you are reinstated, you will schedule a meeting with an advisor to register for classes and with the Office of Student Success as directed by the committee.

Appeals are handled on as needed basis throughout the academic year (exception: July and August).
Reinstatement application deadlines to request reinstatement for specific semesters:
November 1st – for Spring enrollment
April 1st – for Summer Sessions enrollment
June 15th – for Fall enrollment
