120 Credits
Students seeking the Graphic Design concentration will gain expertise ranging from traditional tools and techniques in 2-D design, graphic arts, and illustration, to new, evolving digital technologies that provide them with the necessary means to become a professional in the creative fields.
The curriculum of this concentration guides Fine Arts majors towards a range of course work that is essential to the understanding of the use of digital technologies as an art medium and the use of online media for promotion.
This program is part of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences.
A minimum of 36 credit hours must be taken at the 300 level or above, with at least 18 in the major. No course with a grade below a 2.0 (C) will be accepted in the major/concentration area.
Electives
Choose additional courses to reach 120 credit hours total.
First-Year Seminar (0-3 cr)
A passing grade is required in the First Year Seminar course. This course is mandatory for all beginning freshmen and for transfer students with no more than 12 credit hours of transferring coursework. This course must be taken in the first semester after admission to Indiana University East.
World Languages & Cultures (0-14 cr)
This requirement may be met by our World Language courses in one of the following ways:
