Psychology is the scientific study of how humans and animals adapt their behavior to the physical and social environments in which they live. Psychology professionals play an active and useful role in our society. Those in human service occupations often work in hospitals, clinics, and private practice. Psychologists also conduct research and work in experimental, educational, and industrial settings.
As a psychology major, you will gain an understanding of yourself and the behavior of others, as well as broad-based problem solving skills. Our graduates are prepared to work in a wide range of settings, including mental health clinics, social welfare agencies, government, personnel departments, and business and industry. The B.S. in Psychology also provides background for students entering graduate work in psychology and such related areas as law, social work, and business.
