Ready for a career change? Become a teacher!
We'll provide you with the knowledge and skills to be an effective teacher, work with you to develop a plan customized to your career goals, and guide you through the licensing process (in IN and beyond) so you're ready to start your career as soon as you've completed the program!
This program is part of the School of Education.
Any course grade below a B will result in dismissal from the program. All field placements are pass/fail. In order to pass field experience courses, students must earn a minimum grade in associated methods courses, successfully complete field experience course work, and pass benchmark assessments (BPA/TPAS/edTPA).
Candidates completing T2T programs meet all academic requirements for provisional licensure at the appropriate level in the state of Indiana. Refer to the Indiana CORE Assessments web page for additional information on tests that must be taken for licensure.
Persons with misdemeanor or felony convictions may not be eligible for licensure.
Admission Requirements
Students who elect to supplement their content area preparation above and beyond the 24 credit Elementary Transition to Teaching program will sign a program plan indicating that those supplemental courses were elective, prior to being admitted to the Transition to Teaching program.
