IU East’s Student Employment Initiative provides students with:

• A central hub (Handshake) to search for on-campus employment opportunities. All IU students have access to this resource using their university login information.
• On-campus employment opportunities that are available to ALL students and pay fairly and equitably across departments.
• Employers who are fully aware of student workers’ status as a student, first and foremost: we will work with students to create schedules that fit with their classes and allow time off when academic loads are most significant. 
• The ability to gain professional skills, experiences, and a connection to campus.
• As a primarily commuter-campus, employment that is convenient for classes and may eliminate extra commute time.
