This program provides students with a flexible, broad-based undergraduate degree. Students are able to gain the knowledge, values, and skills that will enable them to be well-prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing and diverse global workplace. The flexible structure lets students choose from a wide range of classes, alongside a concentration in one or two academic areas, encouraging their development of specific expertise that may be broadly applied in professional settings.
In the General Studies program, students complete courses from three distinct learning areas: (1) Arts and Humanities, (2) Science and Mathematics and (3) Social and Behavioral Sciences. Then they choose one of the three areas in which to focus, taking additional coursework in that area to sharpen their skills for application in professional pathways with which it may intersect.
The General Studies program offers students a uniquely individualized way to pursue their academic interests and to transform that pursuit into real world, professional opportunity.
