One of the final—and most rewarding—milestones on your journey to becoming a licensed educator is student teaching: a 12-week, full-time, in-classroom apprenticeship that transforms you from education student to professional teacher. This immersive experience is where preparation meets practice, and confidence begins to take root.
Working alongside an experienced mentor teacher, you will gradually assume increasing responsibility in the classroom. You’ll begin by observing and assisting, then move into co-teaching, lesson planning, leading instruction, managing classroom routines, and assessing student learning.
