New faculty at IU East for the academic year

Indiana University East is pleased to welcome five new faculty members to campus for the academic year, 2021-2022.

Gregg Woodruff

School of Business and Economics
Gregg Woodruff, associate professor of accounting, received his Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration at the University of Memphis. He also earned his Master of Accountancy and his Bachelor of Science at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Previously he was an associate professor and department chair at Western Illinois University. Formally he taught as an assistant professor at McKendree College and as an instructor at the University of Memphis.

Woodruff has published articles most recently in the Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Journal of Accounting and Free Enterprise and the Korean Accounting Review.

He is a member of the American Accounting Association and the American Taxation Association.

School of Education

Terri Hardy

Kathleen Kreamelmeyer, visiting lecturer in education, received her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She received her Master of Arts in Elementary Education and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

She previously taught Elementary Education at Ball State University. Kreamelmeyer formerly taught as an assistant professor of Education at IU East. Kreamelmeyer has most recently been published in Disability and Society and has several articles accepted for publication in 2022.

Kreamelmeyer is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the National Association for Multicultural Education.

School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Terri Hardy is a visiting lecturer in sociology. Hardy received her Master of Arts in Sociology from Ball State University.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral and Social Sciences from IU East. Hardy was previously an adjunct instructor at IU East. In 2019, she received the Part Time Faculty Award recognizing excellence in teaching for part-time faculty.

Thomas D. Mackie Jr.

Currently, she teaches courses in sociology, sociology of families, and social problems.

Thomas D. Mackie Jr. is a visiting lecturer in history this spring semester. Mackie received his Ph.D. in Public and U.S. History from Western Michigan University. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Muskingum College and a Master in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. He also has his Bachelor of Art in History from Spring arbor College.

Previously, Mackie was an adjunct instructor of history at IU East. Mackie has also been an adjunct instructor at Central Virginia Community College and Sweet Briar College and he has taught at the secondary level at Amherst County High School in Virginia.

Mackie’s background with museums and historical societies is extensive, including serving as the former museum director for the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee; the director of history and education for the Historic Roscoe Village Foundation; archive manager West Michigan Conference Methodist Archives for Albion College; executive director for the Ontario County Historical Society; and director/curator for the Amherst County Historical Museum among others.

Tina Pugh

He has published articles for the Indiana Historical Bureau and Lincoln Herald, most recently. Currently, he has a book manuscript, A Shrine for President Lincoln or Shrines and Circuses, under review by Southern Illinois University Press and he has begun work on his next book.

School of Nursing and Health Sciences
Tina Pugh is visiting lecturer with the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Previously, Pugh was an adjunct lecturer at IU East. In 2021, Pugh received the Part Time Instructor Excellence in Teaching Award.

Pugh received her Master of Science in Nursing from IU East. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associate of Science in Nursing degrees from IU East. She teaches didactic, lab and clinicals for nursing students.
