Yes! Your health and safety are important to us. As a result, face masks are to be worn when inside all campus buildings. Face masks are also to be worn when outside and physical distancing (6 feet distance) is not possible. You may wear our own face mask if you wish. Face masks must cover your nose and mouth. Yes, you are permitted to bring your own hand sanitizer or wipes for your own use.

Classrooms, Offices & Public Spaces

Yes, IU East is open and operating with normal campus hours. However, some offices may continue to work remotely throughout the semester. You are encouraged to call ahead and/or schedule an appointment.

Yes. The Campus Bookstore is open from 9am-5pm.  After September 4th, an announcement about regular store hours for the remainder of the semester will be posted.  To ensure physical distancing, a maximum of 10 people are allowed in the store at one time, including employees.  

Yes, campus resources, such as the library and computer labs, are available with physical distancing restrictions in place.

Students who have individual needs where special accommodations may be helpful should consult with the Office of Accessibility Services at


When possible, some activities may be held outside. To accommodate physical distancing guidelines other student events, programs, and activities may be held virtually. 

IU East continues to work closely with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the River States Conference (RSC) official. IU East plans to move forward with its fall athletic season. To help ensure the health and safety of our students, spectators will not be permitted at indoor contests.
